As Program Manager at The Actuarial Foundation, I manage two national education programs, two national math challenges, five scholarship programs and one diversity mentoring program.
I started my career as a social worker in Chicago. After one or two harrowing experiences, as well as being tired of working 2 or 3 jobs to stay afloat, I found an opportunity as a benefits specialist in human resources. It was enjoyable and I learned a ton, but I missed the nonprofit world. In 1998, I made a move to the niche world of Association Foundations and have never left. I’ve been with the Foundation since 2004.
I am a widow with two middle school children, which doesn’t allow me too much free time. When I do have time, I enjoy taking advantage of all Chicago has to offer as well as anything in and around Lake Michigan with my kids. I love my Britbox, Acorn and PBS streaming services. British and International mystery series are my passion, but my dream is to live in the Only Murders in the Building world.
In what seems like another lifetime, I received a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
