Rolande Sonya Odeniyi, FSA, MAAA is a Senior Director and Actuary at HCSC, where she leads strategic initiatives in medical economics and healthcare analytics. A passionate advocate for educational equity, Rolande draws from her upbringing in the underserved suburbs of France, where access to quality math education was limited. She is the author of From Fallen To Fellow, a memoir that chronicles her transformation from a troubled teen to a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Rolande was honored with HCSC’s 2019 DEI Leadership Award for her work in diversifying the actuarial talent pipeline, leading initiatives in partnership with organizations such as IABA and OLA, and mentoring actuarial students. She is joining The Actuarial Foundation Board to help expand access and opportunity in math education and open pathways to the profession for greater growth. Rolande received her B.S in Mathematics & Finance (2010) from DePaul University.
