Visionary DEI Champion, Inspiring Mentor and Sponsor

The Actuarial Foundation’s Board of Trustees is privileged to honor Helen Galt for her enduring commitment to our mission of enhancing math education and financial literacy through the talents and resources of actuaries. Helen was a trailblazer and mentor for all women who entered the actuarial profession at a time when there were very few women in the field. She was a pioneer for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, a prominent catalyst and an active force for change and impact in the insurance industry.

Elegant Leader

Helen joined The Actuarial Foundation’s Board of Trustees in 2012 and immediately began serving on the Foundation’s Actuarial Diversity Scholarship Committee and the Student Achievement Committee. She served as Board Chair in 2015 and was instrumental in creating and leading an in-depth evaluation of the Foundation’s program areas in order to advance the Foundation’s mission and determine its future direction.

Donations in memory of Helen will support the Helen Galt Educator Award for the Modeling the Future Challenge. We are grateful for your support in Helen’s memory.

Helen served the insurance industry as a pioneer and game changer and did so with grace and courage. She saw potential and opportunity and gave so many of us a chance to lead and to serve. Helen believed in talent and helped us be better than we ever thought we could be. She was a trusted friend and a caring role model to so many women. Continuing Helen’s life work of promoting a love for math and for learning is our opportunity to honor her shining career and her joyful impact.”
