Honoring the Life and Work of Bob Shapiro
Robert D. Shapiro, FSA, 1942–2021
The Actuarial Foundation’s Board of Trustees, friends and colleagues of Bob Shapiro are honored to recognize his life and work by establishing this memorial scholarship. Robert D. Shapiro, FSA, MAAA, had a lifelong commitment to the Foundation’s mission of enhancing math education and financial literacy through the talents and resources of actuaries. In Bob’s words, “The Actuarial Foundation is a critical component of the actuarial profession and its values.”
As one of the Founding Members of The Actuarial Foundation, Bob’s visionary leadership, dedication and enthusiasm for serving others made a difference in the lives of so many. This memorial scholarship will ensure that the programs of the Foundation will continue to inspire students and future actuaries for years to come.
