Lela Patrik

Lela is a Principal with PwC’s Risk Modeling Services (RMS) practice with over 19 year of experience. She leads actuarial teams for some of PwC’s largest Property & Casualty (P&C) clients with global insurance and reinsurance operations. Lela brings broad industry insights that frame her review perspectives and guide her teams’ risk-based approach. She has expert knowledge of accounting and auditing technical guidance that supports high quality reviews and adds value to her clients. For her PwC RMS practice, she holds the role of Diversity Partner Champion and HR People Partner Lead, driving recruiting efforts and enhancing her people’s sense of inclusivity and belonging.

Lela is a graduate of Swarthmore College with a BA in Mathematics and Sociology / Education; her senior thesis examined how an art-based curriculum lays the framework for a community of acceptance and cultural sensitivity (2004). She co-authored the paper “A Methodology for Avoiding the Pitfalls of Excess Loss Development,” published by the Casualty Actuarial Society (2013), she is a contributing author of the IFRS 17 textbook published by the Society of Actuaries (2021), and she speaks frequently at insurance industry events on IFRS 17 and other P&C topics. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
