Stewart Ashkenazy is Senior Vice President Actuarial Services in the Actuarial Resources department. His responsibilities include global valuation reporting, governance and controls over actuarial processes, Embedded Value program management, global pricing oversight, global actuarial development program management, budgeting for Actuarial Resources and actuarial consulting to MetLife’s employee benefit plans. Stewart currently leads the actuarial implementation of the LDTI accounting regime. He also serves as chairman of the Enterprise Governance and Controls Steering Committee and Chief of Staff to the Global Chief Actuary.
Stewart joined MetLife in 1985 as an actuarial student in the Group Insurance Actuarial department. He advanced through positions of increasing responsibility, rotating through Personal Insurance Planning, Pensions Corporate Accounts, Group Insurance Pricing, Retirement Savings Center, Actuarial, Small Business Center, RIS Valuation and Reserve Coordination departments. Stewart has also served as appointed actuary for two MetLife subsidiaries and as Corporate Illustration Actuary. Outside of MetLife, Stewart is a member of the SOA Employers Council and chaired the LICONY Actuarial & Reserves Subcommittee from 2016-2019.
Stewart received his B.A. degree in statistics from the University of Rochester in 1985. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He and his family reside in Great Neck, New York.
