2025 STEM Stars Orientation Recaps!

Over the past few weeks, our STEM Stars wrapped up a vibrant series of Summer Orientations that sparked curiosity and set the stage for an exciting year ahead. Together, they explored the actuarial world through hands-on activities, gained insights into the day-to-day life of an actuary, and discovered the diverse career paths available in the field.

We were especially thrilled to welcome our newest members, Cohort 4 (incoming freshmen), who completed their very first virtual orientation in late June. During the session, the Stars had a chance to connect with one another, participate in fun icebreakers, and get acquainted with the resources that will support them throughout the program. It was an energizing start to their four-year journey, and we couldn’t be prouder of their enthusiasm and drive. Welcome to the program, Cohort 4!

Last year, Cohort 2 (rising juniors) of the STEM Stars Program had their first in-person meeting. This year, it was their turn to reconnect virtually for their summer orientation! The Stars met with the full STEM Stars team (Reko, Daisy, and Tori) to review their upcoming program year requirements and enjoy a fun team-building activity together!

Cohort 3 (rising sophomores) came together to Chicago, IL for their very first in-person orientation! From meeting their mentors face-to-face to connecting with representatives from our Corporate Advisory Council companies, the Stars made the most of every opportunity. They explored the city, built connections amongst their peers, and laid the groundwork for an exciting year ahead. You can spot Cohort 3 in the top photo.

We’re incredibly thankful to the staff, students, partners, and supporters who made this year’s Summer Orientations such a success. It was inspiring to witness new relationships blossom and existing ones deepen. With this momentum, we’re energized and ready to embark on what promises to be another impactful and exciting program year ahead!
