STEM Stars Achieve Success
February 23, 2023
We launched the STEM Stars Actuarial Scholars Program with a primary goal to increase diversity in the actuarial profession. By providing support that starts in high school, extends into college and continues through a career, the STEM Stars program identifies, recruits and supports high school students who are skilled in math and interested in the actuarial field.
We proudly announced the first cohort of twenty STEM Stars last Spring. These Stars were welcomed into a supportive community with the Summer Intensive Workshop, introduced to a network of mentors and tutors and were provided with immersion experiences, internship and job shadowing opportunities.
We are excited to announce that this first cohort of STEM Stars is already making strides in moving the needle on diversity in the profession. Seven of our Stars have taken the next step in their journeys by achieving internships and passing actuarial exams.
Congratulations to these STEM Stars! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish.
