8 New Trustees Join the Foundation’s Board

The Actuarial Foundation is proud to announce that eight new Board of Trustee volunteers have officially joined the Foundation’s Board as of June 2020. Welcome, Sandra Zunker Brown, J.D.; Timothy L. Graham, FCAS, MAAA; Olga T. Jacobs, FSA, MAAA; Ted A. Lyle, FSA; Roosevelt C. Mosley Jr., FCAS, MAAA, CSPA; Eric Sherman, FSA, MAAA, CFA; Chad C. Wischmeyer, FCAS, MAAA, CFA; and Ben Ybarra.

 

Sandra, now retired, most recently worked as a litigation shareholder at Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, where she successfully defended actuarial and other financial professionals in complex cases arising out of insolvencies, post-acquisition disputes and pension shortfalls.

Timothy, now retired, was senior vice president of Business Finance at CUNA Mutual Insurance Society from 2012–2015.  He also was a member of the Professional Liability Study Group of the American Academy of Actuaries in the early 1990s and early 2000s.

Olga is vice president, Actuarial Strategy. Pricing and Operations, at UnitedHealthcare. She served as an elected member of the Society of Actuaries Board of Directors from 2014–2017 and the SOA Inclusion & Diversity Committee (Chair, 2017).  Olga remains an active volunteer with the SOA and currently serves on the faculty of the Fellowship Admission Course and as contributing editor for The Actuary. Olga also serves on the IABA Corporate Advisory Council and as an advisory board member for WING, Women’s insurance Networking Group.

Ted, now retired, most recently served as chief actuary of UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Health division from 2001–2015. Throughout his actuarial career, he was involved in various committees of the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.

Roosevelt is a principal and consulting actuary with Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Inc. He is an active participant in committees and task forces of both the Casualty Actuarial Society and the American Academy of Actuaries.

Eric is vice president and actuary at New York Life Insurance Company. He has held numerous roles throughout his career and is currently the head of Retail and Institutional Life Valuation and ALM.

Chad is the president and managing partner of Oliver Wyman Actuarial Consulting, Inc. He has spoken at various seminars and has also been involved with various committees and task forces of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the American Academy of Actuaries.

Ben is vice president, commercial banker, at Chase Commercial Bank. He is also vice president of the Association of Latino Professionals for America. During the 2018–2019 academic year, Ben served as a volunteer leader in the Epic Academy Charter School Intensive Program, which focuses on career development and initiatives within the banking industry.

Each of these accomplished business leaders will elevate the efforts of the Foundation as we expand our outreach. We are excited to work with each of them as we create a brighter future for students with our free math education and financial literacy resources.
