SCHAUMBURG, IL (June 17, 2020)The Actuarial Foundation is proud to announce Margaret Resce Milkint, managing partner of The Jacobson Group, as Chair of its Board of Trustees. Milkint was elected to the Board in 2017 and has been instrumental in guiding the Foundation’s outreach as Chair of the Development and Marketing Committee. She has also served on the Executive Committee of the Foundation’s Educate.Connect.Change. fundraising campaign, raising over $3 million to date, which will allow The Actuarial Foundation to continue its tradition of providing lifelong math education and financial literacy through its programs and scholarships.

“The Actuarial Foundation is making a real and needed impact by actively supporting math education and financial literacy,” said Milkint. “I’m honored to serve with my fellow trustees and look forward to continuing to advance and amplify the Foundation’s mission.”

Serving as the U.S. philanthropic organization for the actuarial profession, The Actuarial Foundation provides free math resources and national competitions for middle and high school students, scholarships for students interested in studying actuarial science, and a volunteer-driven tutoring program poised to close the math achievement gap. The past three years have been especially revolutionary for the Foundation, with a new branding initiative and website, dramatic increases in the number of students served through its tutoring and math competitions, and a revamped financial literacy program.  Milkint’s exceptional leadership will ensure that this growth continues.

Milkint began her career at Jacobson more than 30 years ago as an actuarial recruiter. Her deep involvement with the actuarial community has continued throughout her career, and she maintains strong ties with actuaries and actuarial groups throughout the industry. Milkint is an active supporter and speaker for the Chicago Actuarial Association and has been called upon to speak for the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and Casualty Actuarial Society on numerous occasions. She serves as a member of the SOA’s Employers Council. Milkint is a vocal advocate in the STEM movement and is Chair of the Million Women Mentors/STEMconnector Women in Insurance Initiative and was honored to receive their Champion of Industry Award.

As managing partner of Jacobson, Milkint leads executive search engagements across all industry verticals and disciplines, including actuarial. A member of the firm’s executive management team, she also plays a significant role in broadening the firm’s reach and breadth of insurance talent solutions. Milkint is a champion of diversity, inclusion and intersectionality in the industry. She co-founded the Women’s Insurance Networking Group (WING), a platform for leading industry females to network and celebrate successes, which partners annually with the Women’s Leadership Forum at the SOA Health Meeting.
